Matthew has grown so much this year! We still struggle sometimes with certain parts of the "potty training" but he's basically got it. He is a very sweet and fun loving boy! But he IS all BOY!!

Lilly has changed sooo much!! She was a sweet little baby at the beginning of the year now she is a super sassy little girl, but she is still as sweet as can be! (Lilly's goal for the new year is to grow some hair!)

This year has definitely had it's ups and downs, but the highs and lows have made us stronger and we are ending the year on a high note!!

Christmas!

Christmas seems to come and go so fast every year and this year was no exception! Christmas Eve I spent the morning baking and cleaning while the kids were watching Christmas movies. Rick had to work Christmas Eve and ended up having to drive to LA (but he brought back a wonderful surprise, fried macaroni and cheese cake from the cheese cake factory!) After all the baking and cleaning was done my mom came and picked up the kids and took them to her house so Merrie and I could run some goodies around to a few friends, and pick up a few last minute things. We then gathered at my parents house to do some Christmas caroling for our neighbors. We had BBQ for dinner, the kids opened their Christmas jammies, and my mom even gave them a bath so they would be ready for bed! The kids and I then headed home to get ready for some of Rick's family to come over. Matthew and I made reindeer food and sprinkled it all over the lawn! Then it was time to get Rick from work. We came home and exchanged gifts with Rick's Mom and his sister Susie's family! After Rick's family left it was off to bed with the kids so that Santa could come!

We allowed the kids to open one gift each before church. Which conveniently turned out to be there Christmas church outfits (wink wink). Matthew was actually ok not opening the rest of his gifts until after church! Matthew loves going to church and he was really upset that church was only one hour that day, he really wanted to go to Nursery! Rick had to take him down to the Nursery room to show him no one was down there! Next Sunday is going to be interesting! (Matthew is going to be a sunbeam...I foresee a meltdown!) After Church we came home and had lunch while we opened presents!

Matthew was soooo excited! Here he is in his Sunday outfit getting ready to open presents. (we made him take a bite of his lunch in between opening each gift to slow him down and to give us a chance to clean up the paper.)

After Lilly woke up from her nap we got dressed and headed over to my parents house to do gifts with them!

I think by this time Lilly was burnt out on opening presents!

On of Lilly's favorite gifts, her very own cell phone! She even got a new purse!

We had a truly wonderful Christmas!! Matthew was the perfect age to enjoy Christmas this year! Everything was magical for him and that made everything magical for me!! He also loved talking about the story of the first Christmas (he even memorized most of it and could tell the whole story if you asked him questions about it!) He loved playing with his Little People Nativity set (and he cried yesterday when I boxed it up.) The first time I told him the story of Baby Jesus this year he had some interesting things to say!

Me: When Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem Mary had to ride a donkey.

Matthew: Why? ( typical 3 year old thing to say!)

Me: Because they didn't have cars back then.

Matthew: Why?

Me: Because cars hadn't been invented yet.

Matthew: (Looks at the hot wheels car in his hand puts it down and slides it towards Mary and Joseph) well they can use my car.

Me: Thank you Matthew that's very sweet, I'm sure they'd appreciate that.

After Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem there was nowhere for them to sleep.

Matthew: What?! That's not very nice! Someone needs to share!

SANTA!!

This year Matthew really wanted to see Santa! He was completely enthralled with Santa and Christmas!! He even chased a man (with a white beard who was riding down our street on his bike) screaming, "Santa wait!!!!" So I told Matthew that Santa would be visiting our mall and that he could go sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted for Christmas. After hearing this Matthew promptly got out a piece of paper and a pencil and requested that I help him write a letter to Santa. I had good intentions of taking the kids to see Santa early on in December ( when the lines aren't too long). But we all got sick (for two weeks) and by the time we were feeling better there was still shopping and cleaning and wrapping to do. So there I was the day before Christmas Eve preparing to take my two young impatient kids to stand in line (probably forever!) at the ridiculously busy mall all by myself (Rick was working)!! Rick and my entire family thought I was insane, but I promised Matthew and he really wanted to go!! Thankfully my Mom offered to go with me, and it's a good thing she did! We stood in line for two hours!! By the time we saw Santa both kids were extremely restless, but Matthew was still excited to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Lilly...I knew she was gonna scream as soon as I set her down, so I told the photographer just to snap the picture as soon as I cleared the frame because it wasn't going to get any better! So that explains Lilly's screaming and reaching in the picture and Matthew was a little disturbed by Lilly's reaction. Next year I will definitely take them early in December!!

Christmas Card Mayhem

Every year I say I'm going to send out Christmas cards and every year Christmas comes and goes and I don't send out cards. This year however I was determined to make it happen! I designed the card months ahead of time all I needed was 3 suitable pictures; a family picture, and an individual picture of each of the kids. I picked out clothes for everyone, I had everything ready...then Lilly got sick, followed my Matthew. I figured we would just wait a week until the kids were better, we had plenty of time. Just as the kids started to feel better, I got sick and a few days later Rick was sick so now here we are just over a week before Christmas and still no Christmas card. So I decided to scrap the family picture :( as much as I wanted a picture of all of us together I knew it wasn't going to happen. Between Rick's work schedule and everyone being sick I knew it was now or never. So I dressed up my whiny still recovering children crammed them in front of the Christmas tree and tried desperately to get 3 usable pictures. Much to my surprise most of Matthew's were cute, I got a decent one of them together and well I had to make do with Lilly. All in all it turned out pretty cute. Now I just have to send them out! (Christmas card end result is at the very top of the blog.)

So Far This Holiday Season...

We've been sick! It started with Lilly and worked it's way up, Rick just started feeling it's wrath a few days ago. We have been completely miserable. Which is a real bummer this time of year!

We did however get to go make gingerbread houses with Rick's family right before the plague hit so at least we got to enjoy that!! I feel like I have been such a slacker lately! I didn't take any pictures at Thanksgiving or post anything. So, Thanksgiving is always bitter sweet for us, we get to spend the whole day with family, but Rick almost always has to work (and he did work this year.) But we had plenty to be thankful for! The kids got to sit in our nice warm home and watch the parade together, we have a roof over our head and plenty of food to eat, which is a lot more then a lot of folks these days! We also have each other! And so many other countless things that make our lives comfortable! Most of all we have our Father in Heaven and The Savior Jesus Christ to be thankful to, for with out them none of this would be possible!

On an exciting note, Rick passed the exam to go to paramedic school, and also received word that Hall Ambulance will be sponsoring him to attend! We are nervous excited and I am super proud of him!!! I know he will do great!! Matthew will also be starting preschool the first Monday in January!!! Both of my boys will be going to school!! Rick also celebrated his 28th birthday! We had a small gathering with some family and friends! We played games, had cake and celebrated Rick's birth!

Growing Up Too Fast

Matthew officially figured out how to ride his bike a few weeks ago and looking back at these pictures has made me realize my kids are growing up way too fast! Matthew is three and a half he's not a baby any more he's not technically a toddler any more either. Sad day! Don't get me wrong I'm glad he's growing and maturing I just miss the baby Matthew! Matthew update: he currently weighs 39lbs and is 41 inches tall. He is so smart! He knows all his letters upper and lower case, and he can sing the ABC song. He even knows some of the sounds that certain letters make. He's good with numbers and knows all his shapes. He is potty trained (but we still have occasional accidents:). He loves nursery, I'm worried how he will do after the new year and he has to go to primary! He is such a sweet smart little boy!

Within the last month or so Matthew and Lilly have developed quite a friendship! They love to play together (most days). They spend a lot of time together in their bedroom playing! They both have very strong wills and hot tempers though so things can get heated really fast but for the most part they play very well together!

Lilly, Lilly, Lilly she is becoming quite a hand full! How can someone so cute and tiny cause so much trouble and destruction? She is constantly into everything. Constantly making a mess, she is also drawn to all things breakable! She leaves a path of destruction everywhere she goes, books ripped up, all things glass broken. She even destroyed a curtain rod by hanging on the curtains! It's a good thing she's so cute! All that being said she really is a sweet baby! She loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is such a daddy's girl (it's really cute) she stands on the couch and looks out the window calling "daddy" while Rick's at work. Lilly update: she finally reached 20lbs last week. She has mastered the art of running (she is surprisingly fast for her size!) Her favorite word is Daddy she also says mom (not very often) and she surprised us by saying "I love you" to my mom the other day!

Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween this year! As you can tell from the pictures, this year Matthew was Peter Pan and Lilly was Tinker Bell. I figured my years of coordinating costumes are soon to be over so I better take advantage of the time I have! (I've wanted to dress my kids as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell since, well before I even had kids.)

The Thursday before Halloween we had a mom and tots party with our friends from church. We had home made root beer and all kinds of Halloween goodies. The kids got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and spend the morning playing. We also did a cute Halloween craft.

The Friday before Halloween we had our ward Halloween party. The highlight of the evening for Matthew was the bounce house! I think he would have spent all night in there if I'd have let him! We also had, in my opinion the best decorated trunk for trunk-or-treating! (cobwebs every where and dry ice smoke, lit up pumpkins, it was pretty awesome!) The kids got a ton of candy!

Earlier that day we visited my parents next door neighbors Tom and Judy since they weren't going to be home on Halloween. They always have something cute for the kids...this year however it was practically like Christmas! Not only did they have treats for the kids there were a couple gifts as well! They are seriously the worlds best neighbors!!

The Saturday before Halloween we celebrated Cousin Jonathan's 6th birthday where there was another bounce house. Matthew was in heaven!

The night before Halloween (Sunday night) we had family home evening and carved pumpkins with my mom and Merrie (my dad came by later he had visiting teaching to do). This was the first year that Matthew actually participated in the pumpkin carving process. He actually drew the face on his pumpkin then Grandma cut it out for him!

Pumpkin Patch

This year we took a trip out to Murray Family Farms to visit their pumpkin patch for family home evening. Little did we know there was A LOT of stuff to do out there!!

They had these corn pits that the kids had a blast in! It sounds kinda weird but they really did have a fun time playing in the corn. They also had a petting zoo but it was extremely smelly and mainly consisted of chickens.

They also had this really awesome jumping pillow! This thing was massive! At first Matthew was scared but after he started jumping he didn't want to stop.

We also went through their corn mazes and visited the butterfly house. There was so much to do we ended up running out of time so we didn't get a chance to take the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. Next year we will have to plan to spend the whole day there!

Fair Time Fun

This year we went to the school field trip day at the fair with some of our mom and tots friends from church (Auntie Momo and my mom also came along to help out!). It was the best time to take the kids because the rides weren't open but there was tons of stuff for the kids to do! Matthew had a blast! They had bubble stations, a petting zoo, a circus and lots of animals to see.

Outdoor Fun

Recently we have been spending a lot of time at the dog park. We load up about once a week and take Sam to the dog park to give him a chance to get out and really run. After Sam has worn himself out we take the kids over to the toys to play and tire themselves out. Then we take everyone home feed them and then put them to bed.

We have also been doing quite a bit of yard work! Matthew loves getting out there and mowing the lawn with daddy! It's a serious job for Matthew you can see the extreme amount of concentration on his face while he helps to mow. Gotta love my men at work!

Our Princess Turned One

Our sweet little Lilly turned one! I can't believe it has already been a year! She is so sweet and so cute I can't imagine our family with out her! She is full of personality and spunk! She loves to play with her brother and she is a total Daddy's girl, and Rick is such a sucker for her! We love her so much and we are excited to continue to watch her grow!

On August 31st after Rick got off work, we loaded the kids in the car and headed south. We met my Mom and Merrie at the plaza hotel in Anaheim. We got in pretty late so we went right to bed. We had a pretty rough night Lilly has a hard time sleeping anywhere that isn't her crib, and rick snores pretty loud. I think the only person that got a good nights rest that night was Matthew (he sleeps like a log.) The next morning we loaded up and headed over to Disneyland.

We bought Lilly her first set of ears...she didn't like them.

Matthew was so excited to be at Disneyland! He's been a few times before, but this time he was really excited. Every time we got in our car for two weeks before our trip Matthew asked if we were going to Disneyland. So he was super excited to finally be there!

I can't wait till Lilly is old enough to have an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

Lilly did so well all day she didn't get cranky she did great while waiting in lines and here she is still happy at the end of the day!

It was priceless to sit there next to him and watch the excitement on his face as the fireworks went off! As soon as Lilly got used to the loud noise she enjoyed the firework show too!

By the time we walked down main street and exited the park both kids were asleep! We had such a great time!! The lines were short it wasn't too crowded and the weather was wonderful! We got to spend some time with my aunt, uncle, cousin and her family who were down from Utah to go to Disneyland! And we got to take my aunt home with us!!! It was so fun to spend all day together at the Happiest Place on Earth!!

The 4th of July

We had a pretty laid back 4th of July! A lot of swimming, food, games and family time. There's not much to talk about. I'm mainly posting this because the kids had some pretty awesome patriotic apparel courtesy of my friend Kimi!

This year Matthew was very excited about his birthday! He informed me early on that this year he wanted a Thomas the Train birthday party. And his party had to have balloons, party hats, a Thomas cake, and of course presents. So I had my work cut out for me! Every year we have a swim party, but this year we weren't sure it was going to be warm enough to swim. But we lucked out! Matthew's actual birthday fell on a Saturday this year, and it was warm enough to swim! On the big day we ran by the store and bought balloons before heading over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to get ready for the party. Matthew was really excited!!

Summer Time

This is a quick recap of what we've been up to so far this summer. Every morning when I wander into their room this is what I find. Matthew crawls into Lilly's crib every morning and wakes her up.

Lilly is our sweet little girl. She is usually very happy. At her last trip to the doctor's Lilly was in the 25% for weight and the 50% for height. She loves to watch the movie Tangled and play with her brother's toys.

Matthew's been working on potty training, it's pretty back and forth with him. But I have learned that Matthew only does things by his watch. So basically he will do it when he is ready.

Surf's Up

The first week of June we packed up the car and headed to the beach, so that Rick could surf. We had a fun filled trip, the kids enjoyed playing in the sand while daddy surfed the waves. Our friends the Taylor's were at the beach as well, so Bryce was Rick's surfing buddy. Right after we arrived and unloaded our car we headed strait to the beach. It was pretty windy but we had a good time.

Before we headed back to the hotel I took Lilly down to the water for the first time.

That night we went to dinner at The Little Hut with the Taylor's. The food was super yummy. Matthew was curious about the tiki man in the restaurant.

Lilly was exhausted from spending the day on the beach, so she slept through dinner.

The next day we checked out of our hotel and headed off to eat some breakfast.

We started a tradition, every time was go to Morro bay we have to eat breakfast at Kitty's Kitchen at least once. Matthew had these awesome mickey mouse pancakes. (I had pancakes too.)

After breakfast we walked around the embarcadero for a little while. Then we headed back down to the beach.

On The Farm

Towards the end of April I took the kids down to Merrie's school, where they have a small "farm" of sorts. I knew Matthew would love seeing all the animals! He loved the pony and the chickens but the highlight of the trip by far was seeing the baby rabbits! I can't wait until Matthew is old enough to go to school there! They have a wonderful school with so many great programs for the kids!

Easter

On the Saturday before Easter Matthew got to color Easter eggs! To minimize the mess I sent everything up outside on the grass! Matthew had so much fun! My mom and Merrie were there to help since Rick had to work and even my dad sat and watched! Matthew loved coloring eggs this year!

This year for Easter, the Easter Bunny came early in the morning to bring our Easter baskets and hide out eggs. Before church on Easter Sunday, Matthew found some eggs while we were all getting ready.

After Matthew and Lilly were dressed in their cute Easter outfits we headed off to church. In Nursery Matthew learned about Jeasus and how he rose from his tomb and that on Easter Sunday we Celebrate Jesus' reserection! After church we ran home to get so Matthew could find the rest of his eggs.

Then we headed of to my parents house for easter dinner and to celebate our friend Bryce's birthday. The Easter Bunny hide eggs for Matthew in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard too, so Matthew got to hunt for eggs again!

For Dinner we had a lot of amazing food! I made eggs and green bean caserole, my mom made ham and cheese potatos, and the Taylors made tri-tip and home made mac and cheese! Then we had Birthday cake to celebrate Bryce's 23 Birthday! Then to finish the night off we played some games! Then we took our tired kids home.

Trip to Nana's House

A few weeks ago we took a trip up north to visit Rick's mom. We were going to leave Saturday night after Rick got off of work but towards the end of his shift they sent him on a long distance transfer to San Fransisco and he didn't get home till 11pm, so there was no way we could leave. I had the car all loaded up so somewhat early the next morning we headed out. I was a bit worried about how the kids would do on the long car ride. We usually only take short trips to Disneyland or the beach. They did surprisingly well, Matthew slept and watched movies and Lilly slept at least half of the trip and the other half she must have played she only cried about five minutes out of the entire six hour drive.

While we were there Matthew had a blast playing with his Nana! He got to swim in Nana's hot tub! We also went to several parks, one was the most amazing park I've ever been to! It had a castle and under ground tunnels a pirate ship and a sea serpent, several forts, swings and a sand box. Matthew had so much

fun we had to drag him out kicking and screaming!

Several people including Rick's mom have commented on how much Lilly looks like Rick's grandma Ione Bailey, so while we were there Bev pulled out some Pictures of Ione when she was about Lilly's age. The resemblance is amazing!

On the last day of our trip we met Rick's mom for dinner before we left! I think Matthew was sad to say good bye, but ready to go home (change in routine is very difficult on my kids so being away from home for several days is really had on them). However since we have been home Matthew has asked several time to "go see the Nana that lives far away." I told him we will have to go back soon!

Ice Cream!

Rick's mom recently sent the kids a package in the mail. In the package there was an out fit for each of them and a card that said "Treat Your Self" with money inside, and she wrote that she wanted us to dress the kids up in there new outfits and take them to Dewar's for ice cream, and take plenty of pictures. So that's exactly what we did!

This morning when I woke up however, I could tell that it was going to be too clod outside for them to wear their cute green outfits. Around 2:00 the sun came out so I quickly dress them up and took them out in the front yard to take some pictures!

Lori Brock Museum

A few days ago my friend Katie and I decided to take our kids to the Lori Brock Museum. We planed to take a sack lunch and spend a few hours before nap time playing at the museum. We met at about 10:30 in the parking lot and headed inside. There main attraction is called Kid City. It's a big room that has been transformed into a small city. There's a cafe and kitchen, a jail house, a construction site, a school, a fire department, a puppet show theater, a Veterinarian office, a library, a park with an "outdoor" theater, a bank, a news station, a grocery store, and in the middle an ambulance (which is Matthew's favorite)! Matthew had a lot of fun! I think he explored every part of Kid City but his favorite part by far was the ambulance! I think Jonas' favorite section was the school, he is seriously really good at identifying numbers! I was very impressed! Matthew also liked the shopping carts from the grocery store, mainly because he could run around and push them "really fast" which is something that Matthew really likes to do right now!

After we played inside for while we headed out to the playground for lunch and some more play time. Matthew loves to be outside! He really liked the big slide that they had. He also got to play with a big outdoor xylophone, and he had his first experience with tether ball. There was so much to do and he was having so much fun that he couldn't stop long enough to eat! After we had been at the museum for several hours we packed up and said good-bye to Katie and Jonas.

Matthew had been begging to go to mam-maw's house, so we headed over to my parents house. Lilly got to take a nap, and Matthew got to spend time with his mam-maw. It was a fun filled day! Thanks to Katie and Jonas for all the fun we will have to go back soon!

Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day Rick and I decided to take the family on a little trip. Sunday morning we loaded up the car and headed south. We first stopped in La Mirada where Rick's Grandparents live. Rick's grandpa just turned 85! There was a big party planed for the day before but Rick had to work and we couldn't attend. So we spent several hours at their home visiting and having a good time. Matthew really enjoyed himself! One of Rick's aunts brought over a bunch of trains and tracks. Matthew had a blast playing trains with his Great-Grandma!

We then headed over to the Red Lion in Anaheim where we were staying the night. We unloaded, then got the stroller out and went for a walk. We walked over to Down Town Disney and watched their Valentine's Day firework show. Then we headed back to the hotel for some sleep.

The next morning we checked out and headed to Disneyland! We had a lot of fun! Matthew got to see his two favorite Disney character, Lightning McQueen and Mater. He loved ridding the train!! Lilly did really well she was happy most of the day! We got to see lots of fun characters, and we also got to meet up with our friend Kimi! After spending the day at Disneyland we met Eric and Kimi at The Cheese Cake Factory for some dinner. We have really missed spending time with Eric and Kimi since they moved down south, so it was really nice being able to get together with them! We had a very fun Valentine's day and we had a blast spending it together as a family!

Spring is in the air!

As the weather warms up I can't help but anticipate spring! All the new green plant growth and beautiful flowers, and all the time spent outside in the nice weather! We had a few days of wonderful weather recently, and we ventured outside to take some pictures. I also took Matthew to McDonald's to play for the very first time and he had a blast! My mom met us there and we had a good time eating lunch and visiting!

I took Lilly to the doctor for her four month check up, but I was a little late and she was almost five months. She is getting so big! I can tell she really wants to be mobile! She scoots on her back all over the place! At her last doctor appointment he weighed 14lbs. She has the cutest personality and the sharpest temper! She always has a big smile for anyone who talks to her. We love her so much!

Matthew is getting to be such a big boy! He helps me a lot with Lilly. He is a very good big brother, he loves to play with Lilly and he is even getting better about sharing! He speaks in full sentences and can count to 12, he knows all his colors and shapes. He loves cars, trains, clocks, playing with play dough, painting and drawing, and more than anything he loves to be outside! He always has to stop and smell ALL of the flowers! Matthew also loves to pretend, he loves to make pretend trains out of boxes. We have been working on potty training but it is extremely slow going! I can't believe he will be 3 in just four short months!

Christmas...Finally!

Well I know it's been a few months but I have finally found the time to post about Christmas. This year Rick had to work on Christmas Eve, so Matthew, Lilly and I spent Christmas Eve with family. During the morning Rick's parents had all the grandchildren come over to decorate gingerbread men, open presents and act out the nativity/ take pictures. Matthew had a lot of fun playing with his cousins. Later on in the day we went to my parents house to get together for Christmas Eve. We then all headed over to the Mallory and Brian Taylor's home for dinner and games. Bryce was home for Christmas and Cameron got to call home from his mission in South America! After many games and much merriment I headed home with the kids so that Santa could visit. After putting the kids to bed I did all the elf work by myself, and went to bed. Rick came home Christmas morning, and we actually had to wake the kids up to open their presents. Lilly of course had no clue what was going on and it took Matthew a little while to wake up and realize Santa had been to our house! After he realized that Santa had brought all these presents for him he got pretty excited!

After we finished opening presents we headed over to my parents house to open presents with them. Matthew wasn't too pleased to be leaving his new toys at home, but all was forgiven when he open his train set from his Grandma and Grandpa! After we exchanged gifts and had breakfast, we headed over to Rick's parents house for lunch and to exchange gifts. The food was wonderful and as always Matthew had a blast with his cousins! After we finished up at Rick's parents house, we headed over to my Grandma's house to pick her up for Christmas dinner.

After we got back to my Parent's house, I helped my mom prepare dinner while Rick played with Lilly and Matthew played with his new train set. After the food was ready we had an amazing Christmas dinner! A bit later our friends Eric, Kimi, Bryce and Keith joined us at my parents house. We then all (my Mom, Merrie, Eric, Kimi, Bryce, Keith, Rick, myself and the kids)traveled over to our house so that we could put the kids to bed and play games. We had so much fun playing games and eating Christmas goodies, that was played into the wee hours of the morning! We had an amazing Christmas and I am so grateful Rick was able to spend Christmas Day with us! I had so much fun explaining the reason for the season to Matthew this year! We got out Matthew's Nativity set and we talked about who all the little pieces are and how on Christmas we celebrate Baby Jesus' Birthday and how he was very special. I wasn't sure how much he understood until a few days later I over heard him playing with his Nativity set and talking about special baby Jesus. It just warmed my heart! New Year's Eve was not very eventful for us. Rick worked his last 24 hour shift that day(yay no more night shifts for Rick)! So it was just me and the kids. We had all been sick so we stayed in. I spent the night watching Thomas the Train and Blues Clues with my kids and we went to bed early. This past year has seen us through many trials but even more blessings! I am so thankful for my beautiful family and I thank God for them everyday! And I pray that this next year holds many more wonderful and health filled experiences for us!

It's Been Awhile!

Quite a bit has happened since Lilly was born in September and she has changed so much! We have been really busy, not only with a new baby in the house, but we also moved, I had to have surgery, and then the holidays! It has been a nightmare! But, I will attempted to post updates on all accounts! First Lilly! She is such a sweet baby, that being said she is also very picky (I'm told that's a girl thing?) She is also a mama's girl, don't get me wrong she likes Dad and Grandpa is good too but that's about it. I have come to discover that she really likes her brother however! Whenever she hears his voice she looks for him and she loves to lie next to him on the floor while he plays. As far as growth is concerned, Lilly is getting big! She has just about doubled her birth weight and has grown several inches. She Loves to smile, I have even heard her laugh and squeal! She can roll over and hold her head up when she is up right! Shes so Strong (and strong willed)I have no doubt she will be crawling as soon as she is strong enough! She is truly a joy!

Halloween was not so fun this year! It fell right during the time that we had to move. I did at least make sure the kids had costumes (Matthew was a scarecrow and Lilly was a pumpkin) and Matthew got to do some trick-or-treating, but it was crazy and I'm glad it's over! Rick also had to work on Halloween so the last of the moving responsibilities fell on me. And I would just like to thank my parents and some very wonderful people from church, with out them (I can't think of the appropriate words to describe what things would have been like with out them, but lets just say it would have been VERY bad!) We did however get moved! And Matthew got to trick-or-treat!

And we arrive at the next update. Where did we move? My parents recently bought a project, a cute little home in east Bakersfield. I fell in love with it right away! It reminded me of a doll house! Unfortunately it needed a lot of TLC!!! All of the windows had to be replaced as did all of the flooring. There was layer upon layer, decades worth of wall paper in just about every room! We all worked very hard! Especially my parents and Rick, day in day out to fix the house up so we could move into it! My Aunt Ellen (Gay) and Uncle Rowe were amazing!! They came down from Utah and layed all new flooring through out the whole house, they layed tile, painted, cleaned, and did so much more! I am so thankful to them for doing everything they did (they did a whole LOT!!) I am once again also very thankful for my parents for there love, help, generosity and so much more! I also want to thank my little sister Merrie for watching the kids so much during the madness!!

Shortly after we moved into the new house, and while we were still trying to unpack, get settled and paint the kitchen, I had an emergency. (Monday) I kept getting these awful pains in my stomach, back and chest. I scheduled a doctors appointment but it got so bad, I finally had to go to urgent care. (Tuesday) On my first trip to urgent care, the doctor was a moron! She ran a couple test, thought I had a kidney stone and sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed no kidney stones but it did show possibility of gal stones. Instead of addressing the possibility of gal stones she told me she still thought it was kidney stones. She gave me some vicodin and sent me home. (Wednesday) 36 hours later, still in pain and vicodin not helping. So I returned to urgent care. This time I had an amazing doctor! He right away knew what was wrong! He did an ultrasound himself to confirmed his suspicions, I had a mess of gal stones! But then he drooped the bomb. I needed to go to the hospital and have my gal badder removed asap. The Doctor hooked me to an IV and gave me meds through the IV for the pain, as we waited for a bed to open up at the hospital. My dad came by on his way home from work and he and Rick gave me a blessing. We only waited about 30 minuets for a bed, and then headed over to the hospital. I was very nervous! I had never been under the knife before. And I was upset I had to be away from my babies! (once again a special thanks to my parents, Rick's parents and Merrie for taking such wonderful care of my babies while I was in the hospital! And thanks to my wonderful husband who stayed with me the whole time!!!) Wednesday night I was admitted into the hospital, Thursday afternoon I had my surgery. They did not get all the stones out in the surgery and I was in a lot of pain when I woke up not only from the surgery but from the remaining stone(s) so the next day (Friday) I had to have a scope put down my throat to collect the remaining stone(s). I was really hoping I'd be able to go home Friday but no such luck (and I actually cried when they told me I had to stay another night!) Saturday afternoon I was finally discharged! We went to our house and found my parents there painting and working on the kitchen (there aren't enough thank yous in the world but here's another one!) I was so happy to see Matthew!! I missed him so much! Then we headed over to Rick's parents house to pick up Lilly. (another special thank you to Larry and Shelia for keeping a cranky 2 month old baby who was not used to being bottle fed!) It was so nice to finally be back home with my family!! (Update: One month later I am completely healed up)

Thanksgiving! This year Rick had Thanksgiving off for the first time in 3-4 years. We watched the Macy's parade, I cooked a turkey with all the fixings. We ate at our house in the late morning, then we went to my parents house late afternoon and ate again. We played games and made some new friends! It was a fun and relaxing holiday! Reflection: My family really has a lot to be thankful for this year! We added a new little baby to our family, and she truly is a sweet spirit! We love her so much! I am thankful for the men in my life, my sweet husband and my sweet sweet Matthew! I am truly thankful that Rick has a job during these economically trying times, and I am thankful that we have health insurance, in light of all that has happened recently! I am thankful for family and the love and support that they have shown us! I am especially thankful for my parents, for everything that they have done for us ( I couldn't even begin to list the things!!) They are truly the worlds best parents!! (And I am so lucky that they happen to be mine!!) And lastly and most importantly I am thankful for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ everything and everyone that has enriched my life has all come from them, and words cannot express my gratitude!

Lastly, the month of December! My favorite month!! My dear sweet husband turned 27 during the first part of December! My not so little sister turned 17. Matthew is officially 2 and a half, and Lilly is 3 months old! I absolutely love this time of year! I remember how magical it was when I was a child! And now that I have children of my own I get to experience that magic again! I have really enjoyed watching Matthew discover Santa, and presents and all the fun that comes with this time of year! (I have tried explaining that it's Jesus' birthday but I'm not sure he quite gets it but he will eventually!) He recently told me that he wants Santa to bring him cars and trains, so I know he understands how that works! He loves our Christmas tree and the Christmas lights outside on the house! And his favorite movie right now is the Polar Express! I love seeing the magic of the season come alive! Well I am pretty much caught up now! There is one more week till Christmas so I will have something to post about very soon! Can't wait!!

Baby Lilly is here!

The newest addition to our family is finally here! Lilly Anne Davis born September 12 at 1:18pm she weighed in at 6lbs 14oz and 20in long! I started feeling strong contractions around 5am Sunday morning, I wasn't sure if I was actually in labor so I tried different thing like walking around and sitting to see if the contractions would stop. Once I determined that they wouldn't stop I started timing them they were 5min apart and 30sec long I called my mom cause I wasn't sure if I should go to the hospital. She said to call my Dr. office who then told me to go to labor and delivery. Now that I was sure I was in labor I woke Rick up and told him that we needed to go to the hospital. We were pretty prepared the bag was packed and in the car the infant seat was already installed. We grabbed some last minute things and ran out the door as soon as my mom arrived to stay with Matthew. ( It felt so strange leaving him sleeping in his bed, and yes I cried!) We arrived at the hospital around 6:45am. They put us in the last labor and delivery room they had (they were on overload that night). By the time the Dr. got there to check me I was 4cm and 50% that was around 8am. I got my epidural around 9:30am. We started pushing around 1pm and Lilly was born at 1:18pm. My mom brought Matthew to the hospital a couple hours later, and he cried and wanted no one but his grandma at first. After a few minuets he let me hold him and then he wanted to see the baby. Along with Matthew and my mom, we also had visits from my sister Merrie, my Dad, Rick's Dad and Shelia and our good friends Eric and Kimi (who were in town for the baby shower which was Saturday but I'm so glad they got to see her! And thank you Kimi for the pictures since I forgot to bring the camera!) And another special thank you to Rick's sister Susie and her husband Steve and family for bringing us a wonderful dinner that night! (we all know how horrible hospital food is!) We had to stay the night at the hospital, but we hoped that we would be out of there in the morning, but no such luck it was late afternoon before we were discharged. My mom brought Matthew to the hospital so we could ride home all together. Lilly has been a wonderful baby she sleeps well eats well and rarely cries. Matthew is adjusting, everyday gets a little better. He loves to give her kisses and loves. Rick and I take turns doing things with him so he gets plenty of attention. We are all so happy to have our little Lilly home with us!

Trip to the Beach!

We made one last trip to the beach before summer was over and the baby gets here. We went with Mallory and Bryce Taylor, and my Mom and Merrie. We had a lot of fun! Rick and Bryce of course went to surf, but at night we all got together in one our hotel room (Mom, Merrie, Rick, Matthew and I were all sharing one room) ordered pizza and played games! We also got to go shopping in San Luis. I also got to have Bob's Big Boy for the first time! It was amazing! I'm so glad we have one here in town now! Matthew loved the Bob statue in front of the diner. He was really excited about the cheese on Bob's burger! Matthew also got a big lolly pop which he made a fantastic mess with on the way home!

Four Years!

I'm a little late on this one, but July 14th was mine and Rick's 4 year wedding anniversary! I can't believe that four years have already passed since we were sealed for time and all eternity in the New Port Beach Temple! It's also hard to believe how much our lives have changed in those four short years! We went from being a family of two to being a family of three soon to be four! Though it all its been a fun ride, and I can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with Rick! I love you so much sweetie! Happy Anniversary!

3rd/4th of July and Matthew's first attempt at surfing

This year with the 4th being on a Sunday we celebrated our independence on the 3rd, which worked really well cause rick also had to work on the 4th. On Saturday we headed over to my parents house for some swimming, BBQ and fireworks! We swam all day, which Matthew loved! I think he would live in the pool if we let him! Rick grilled up some amazing stakes for us all to eat, then after some more swimming and once it got dark enough we set off some small fire works in my parents backyard. Matthew wasn't too sure about the fireworks, I think they were too loud for him. I think he was also scared for his Daddy who was setting them off! However, I think by the end of the show he enjoyed them!

Sunday on the 4th like I said Rick had to work. So after church we went over to my parents house and enjoyed left overs from the night before. Around 9pm my mom, Merrie, Matthew and myself packed up some camp pads in the back of my parents truck, popped some popcorn, grabbed some snacks and sodas and headed down to the pets mart/ Mari Calenders parking lot to watch the firework show from the country club. Now, Matthew loved those fire works! We had so much fun watching the show!

A few weeks ago when we went swimming Rick had his surf board in the pool and Matthew wanted to play with it non stop! He even got to the point where he could stand up on it all by himself! Needless to say Rick was very proud! Even Sam wanted to get in on the fun!

My baby turned two!! I can't believe it's been two years since our little miracle Matthew came into our lives! He is such a sweet and loving little boy, he brings so much joy into our lives! Everyday is an exciting adventure with Matthew, he is learning so much everyday and it's fun to see him discover new things! He is such a joy and we love him so much!

On Saturday we celebrated Matthew's birthday at my parents house. We had a swim party, and as you can see it was a Cars themed party. Cars is Matthew's favorite movie and he loves Lightning McQueen! We had so much fun spending the day with family and friends and we are so grateful to all those who were able to attend! At the party we swam, ate lunch, had cake, opened presents, and swam some more! Matthew had a blast! He was pretty much happy all day long, and he didn't even get a nap!

This year for Matthew's birthday Rick and I decided to get Matthew a puppy. I'm still trying to figure out if this was a good idea or not. For the most part they get along pretty well, but they do have there moments. And they seem to get into a bit of mischief together, like un potting all my flowers and trying to destroy the blinds on the sliding doors. However, I think that as they both grow they will be best friends!

We were so fortunate that Rick had Matthew's birthday and Father's Day off! We started father's day out by going to church. After church we had a Father's Day BBQ at the Taylor's house with the Taylor's, my parents and sister and the missionaries. We had wonderful food and played fun games! For father's day we got Rick the new season of a TV show that he likes, and tomorrow Rick leaves to go surfing with some of his friends! Happy Father's Day sweetie hope it was a good one!

Mother's Day and Getting the Pool Ready for Summer!

I had an enjoyable Mother's Day this year! Rick came home from work that morning and surprised me with a beautiful arrangement of flowers. I also got a new maternity bathing suit and a cute cover up to go with it! After rick got home we all got ready and went to church. Matthew made a cute bouquet of flowers for me in nursery! (They are the yellow ones in the second picture.) After church we went over to my parents house for lunch with my Parents, Sister and Grandmother. All in all it was a pretty good day!

This past week my parents have been getting their pool ready for summer, and Matthew's up coming birthday party!!! They scrubbed and cleaned in and then Rick helped my parents paint it, it looks so good now! Last night it was finally ready to start filling it up with water! Matthew, Merrie and my Dad enjoyed sliding into the bottom while it was filling!

Off to the Beach!

This past week we spent a couple of days at the beach! It was great to just get away! Rick got to surf, Matthew got to play in the water and the dirt, and I got to relax! The second day we were there my Mom and Merrie came over to join us and we all had fun hanging out on the beach! Unfortunately I only took a few pictures and they are mainly of Matthew playing in the sand. The day after we came back from the beach we had an early morning ultrasound appointment and a doctor's appointment. During the ultrasound part neither Rick nor I could tell if the baby was a boy or a girl. So, some what disappointed we headed upstairs to our doctor's appointment. As soon as the nurse looked at the pictures she told us it was a girl! I'm not sure how she could tell? But I sure hope she was right! I'm so excited to buy pink things!!!

A new year!

Well, so much has happened since my last post! I'll get right to it and start with our trip to Disneyland. We went to Disneyland on December 18th to Celebrate Merrie's sweet sixteen! We had a lot of fun, and the park was sooo beautiful all decorated for Christmas!! Matthew even got to see Santa while we were there!!

We had a good Christmas this year! Rick was off for eight days around and including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! We celebrated Christmas Eve with Rick's family. We made gingerbread houses, acted out the Nativity, played games and exchanged presents.

Christmas Day we opened the presents that Santa brought us! Among other things Santa brought Matthew a radio flyer car and a drum set! Matthew loved his car so much that he opened his other presents from inside the car! After we opened our presents we headed over to my parents house!! We opened presents with them and had a wonderful Christmas dinner with my family and Grandma!

Just a few days after Christmas my dear sweet Grandfather, Richard Woessner passed away.
It wasn't sudden but he will be missed! We had his funeral a week or so later.

For New Years we got together with our friends Eric and Kimi and my family. We played games and ate yummy food all night. In January we also found out that we are expecting a new little addition to our family!!! Due to arrive around September 26th! We are all very excited!! On March 5th we took another trip to Disneyland, partly to celebrate my birthday and also because my Mom, and Merrie did the Disney give a day, get a day and made blankets for the project Linus. We had a lot of fun and got to see some fun characters!

What's new?

Well, well, well, so much has happened since our last post! I hardly know where to begin! Well, I mentioned in an earlier post that we went to the beach right after Matthew's 1st birthday, while we were there my camera had an accident involving sand getting inside the camera. Needless to say it is no longer working. We now have a water proof camera!

Now our goings on since our last post:
Our dear friends Eric and Kimi were sealed in the LA temple during the first part of August. We were all part of the wedding party. We had lots of fun and are so happy for them! Merrie went with us so that we could both attend the sealing. Thanks Merrie we'd be lost with out you!

After Eric and Kimi's wedding we moved! Our new apartment is so nice! I love it! It's a lot bigger, it has a garage and a washer and dryer, a fireplace, and I now have a walking closet!! We also purchased a new couch!! Our new complex has lots of young couple from our ward and a new friend for Matthew to play with.

We made another trip to the LA Temple for a family sealing! Merrie could not attend this time so Matthew and I hung out on the temple grounds while Rick attended the sealing.

After the sealing we decided to head over to the beach. We ended up in Morro Bay and stayed for a couple of days. Matthew loved playing on the beach until he fell into a deep tide pool! Rick also bought his first surf board! He recently discovered that he loves to surf!

During the first part of October Matthew was really sick, he had bronchitis and we couldn't take him to a pumpkin patch. So we bought a bunch of pumpkins and brought the patch to him! You can tell he really doesn't feel good though by the way he looks in the pictures! Luckily Matthew recovered in time for Halloween! This year Matthew was Super Mario, he even had a Yoshi! I may be a little biased but I think Matthew had the best costume ever this year!

Rick had to work again this Thanksgiving so Matthew and I spent the day with my parents and grandparents and Merrie!

Today Is Rick's birthday! Poor guy is sick and in bed, I don't have any pictures from his party but I found this picture of Rick and Matthew. We always joke about Matthew being Rick's mini me but it really goes beyond looks. Matthew loves everything that his daddy loves especially video games!! Matthew and I love you Rick, Happy Birthday!!

Matthew's 1st Birthday and Our Trip to the Beach!

Matthew recently had his first Birthday! Our baby turned one on June 18th. We had a party for him the following Saturday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who shared that day with us! A few things about Matthew:

-He eats anything and everything!

-He crawls really fast (my mom calls it the torpedo crawl)

-He can almost walk. He can take four or five steps before he sits down.

-He has 7 Teeth!!

-He says, mama, dada, baba, no, hello, we go, bye bye, good, num num and ot oh.

-He is in the 90% for height and weight.

-He likes to play with cars and trucks.

-He has decide he only needs his pacifier at night and nap time, other wise he has no use for it.

-He has also decided that he only needs one nap, so he sleeps 12 hours at night and takes a 3 hour nap during the after noon.

-His favorite toys include the computer keyboard and mouse, the PS3 and it's controllers and the piano.

We are so blessed to have him, I could never imagine life with out him!

The Monday after Matthews Birthday party we headed off to the Beach. We met up with my mom and sister and the Taylor's. The Taylor's rented a huge beach house in cayucos and invited us to come stay for a night. We went up on Monday, got all settled in and then headed down to the beach. We had alot of fun rick learned how to surf and Matthew enjoyed playing in the water and the sand (and eating it)! That night we played games for hours, it was alot of fun! The next day Rick, Cameron, and Bryce spent the whole day surfing. Matthew, my mom, my sister and I went to San Luis. We walked around and looked in all the shops. We found a Beverly's there that sold armor! After the boys were done surfing Rick, Matthew and I packed up and headed home. We just want to thank the Taylor's for a wonderful beach trip!

Today we a heading out to go camping so hopefully there will be camping pictures to follow!

Catching up yet again!

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted last, and I really can't believe how much has happened since then! It will probably take two posts to get through everything! I think I will start with Easter. We had a great Easter we started out the day at church then we went to my grandparents home for a family get together. We also visited Rick's parents. Matthew got to meet the Easter bunny, and apparently he made a good impression because Matthew made out pretty well as far as presents go!

After Easter my good friend Kimi, Matthew and I made a quick trip to Utah! Kimi is getting married and she needed a wedding dress, so we hit the road. This trip was the longest Matthew has made so far, and all things considered he did really great! We left on a Friday drove all the way to Spanish Fork Utah. Spent all day Saturday looking for a dress, and then drove home Sunday. Like I said it was a quick trip! We did however, have time to stop at the Saint George Temple on the way up.

The week after we got home from Utah Rick, Matthew and I took another trip to Disneyland. We found an awesome deal on a room at the Red Lion! This time we met Rick's sister Susie her husband Steve and the their son Johnathan at the Magic Kingdom. We had a blast we spent the whole day ridding rides and looking through the shops. After we were all done with Disneyland we all headed over to the Cheese Cake Factory. Rick and I had never been there so it was a wonderful treat for us. Rick has yet to stop talking about the chocolate cheese cake he had!

For my birthday Rick, Matthew and I went to Disneyland for a couple days. It was so much fun! Matthew was so good he loves being around lots of people so he really enjoyed himself. We all got mouse ears with our names on the back. We rode a few rides the first day and walked through all the shopes and watched the firework show. The next day we went to California Adventure, it was our first time there and we didn't really enjoy it, we really enjoyed downtown disney though. All in all the trip was really fun! We plan on going back soon!

Our Trip to the E.R.

Rick sad because Matthew's sick!

Yesterday was the worst day we have had in a really long time! It started at midnight and progressed throughout the day from bad to worse! This is how it went: 12:00am Mathew throws up on our bed, so naturally I change his clothes. As I'm changing him I notice that he is hot to the touch so I ask Rick to find the thermometer. After striping him down to his diaper we take his temperature and it's 102. We give him some Motrin and take his temperature again an hour later, by then it's dropped to 100 and we attempt to go back to bed but Matthew develops a stuffy nose and wakes up screaming ever couple of hours because he can breath through his nose. Finally around 5am Matthew sleeps for a 4 1/2 hour stretch. 9:30am Matthew wakes screaming again and doesn't want to sleep any more. We get up I try to feed him but he refuses his food (completely not like him!) he screams continually and doesn't want to be put down, also not like him. So, I try to get him an appointment with his Dr. but there all full, after Rick explains that he really needs to be seen they let us come in. 2:30pm I take Matthew to the Dr. Rick had a Dr. appointment of his own so I take the screaming Matthew by my self. 3:30 pm we are finally called back and put in a room, Matthew finally falls asleep. 3:50 Dr. comes in to see Matthew, looks in his ears and say oh wow has he been cranky? YES!! He has an ear infection, they give me a prescription and send me on my way. 5:00 pm after dropping off Matthew's prescription I come home to find out that a transformer on our street blew up and our powers out. 7:30pm Power finally comes back on Matthews still screaming and still hasn't had a nap! We rush through dinner because someone has to hold Matthew at all times. 10:00 pm We check Matthews temperature and it has spiked to 104 so we decide to take him to the E.R. The E.R. is so busy there is no where to sit, Matthew continues to scream unless I walk him around 12:00 am we finally get to sit down. Matthew takes his second bottle of the day and falls asleep. 1:00 am we finally get called back they tell us he's fine and If his fever gets that high again to give him a max dose of Motrin and Tylenol at the same time. 2:00 am Home again, Matthew wakes up every couple of hours again. The good news is his fever finally broke and he hasn't had one since!

The Beach

Last weekend we took a trip to the beach to celebrate Rick's Mom's Birthday. It was a lot of fun! Both of Rick's sisters and their families came and we all got to hang out at the beach house. The last day that we were there we took Matthew down to the water. We took him to the tide pools by Morro Rock. He loved the water even though it was freezing. He didn't want to leave. He really liked splashing in the water, I can't wait to take him back when he is a little older!

Christmas

Where has the time gone? It seems like Christmas just flew past us! We had a good Christmas. We opened presents on Christmas eve this year because Rick was supposed to work Christmas Day, but his work called him at 5:00am Christmas morning and offered him the day off!! After we all got up and got ready we went over to my parents house to open presents with them. Matthew really enjoyed the ribbon this year! After we opened presents we all went over to my Uncle Mitchell's house for Christmas dinner. As is tradition my dad played Christmas songs on his guitar and we all sang along, Matthew loved the guitar he stared at ti the entire time!

The Monday before Christmas we all got together at Rick's parents house for presents and Christmas fun. Shelia arranged a children's nativity staring all the grandchildren. Lauren was Mary, Jonathan was Joseph, Thomas was a Lamb, Nathan was a shepherd, and Matthew was baby Jesus. They were all so cute, and Matthew was quiet throughout the entire production!

This is just a random picture of Matthew in this Sunday Christmas outfit. He wasn't very happy about wearing it, so I couldn't get a picture of him smiling. The outfit was sooo cute though!

December 18th was Merrie's 15th birthday and Matthew's half birthday, he's 6 months old now yaya!! Merrie's birthday was wild, and there were so many people there! It lasted until 2am I think, but we went home long before that! Matthew is getting so big! He can sit up by him self for short periods of time now, he can roll over both ways, he eats all the 1st baby food, (except peas) he even trys to feed him self, he holds his own bottle and drinks from a sippy cup, he is really close to crawling and he got his first tooth...he's growing up too fast!

In this post I'm going to attempt to catch up to what we are currently doing! Here goes, the weekend before thanksgiving my cousin Josh and his wife Jessica and family came down to spend Thanksgiving with Jessica's family. They stoped by my parents house to spend a few days. They have three adorable children. The oldest is Joni, and then they have twins Dalian and Hannah. The twins are 10 months old, look at Matthew, he's the same size and he was only 5 months at the time!!

Next came Thanksgiving, unfortunately Rick had to work :( so Matthew and I spent the day at my parents home. My parents were hosting Thanksgiving for my Dad's side of the family this year so everyone came to their house. My cousin Candice was there with her husband and their son Ryley who is just a month older than Matthew, so that was fun! After Rick came home from work our friends Eric and Kimi came over and we all played some fun games. All together our Thanksgiving was lots of fun!!

The day after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday" Merrie, Matthew and I went Shopping. We didn't get up early tho, I think we went around 11am. We went to Target and the East Hills Mall. It wasn't that eventful so I don't have much to say. Except that Matthew looks soo cute in his new jacket!!

Then the Saturday after Thanksgiving we left to visit Rick's Mom in Northern California, she lives in a small town called Magalia it's close to Chico. Rick had to work Saturday so we left after 7pm. I'm glad we left so late because Matthew slept the entire way up. We had alot of fun while we where there! We stayed until Wednesday of the following week. Unfortunately Matthew did not sleep the entire way back, but he did really well! He didn't start crying until we were within 20 miles of Bakersfield, but he cried for the entire 20 miles! I didn't take very many pictures but here's a couple of Matthew with his Grandma.

Rick's Birthday was on the ninth, the Sunday before we had Family Home Evening with Rick's family and they celebrated his Birthday then. On the ninth I had my parents and a few friends over for cake and ice cream. His Birthday really snuck up on us so we really didn't plan anything, I just threw a party together. All in all it was really fun we served burgers had cake and played games. Rick took this picture of himself so that's why it looks weird.

Last night we went to the Holiday lights at CALM. It was alot of fun, but it was really cold. I think the only person who stayed warm was Matthew because he was so bundled up. The lights were really pretty! They had a train ride and a carousel. We took Merrie and Cameron with us and met Eric and Kimi there. Matthew got to sit with Santa. It was alot of fun!

So now I'm all caught up, yay!!

Super Saturday

So this last Saturday our ward had a "super Saturday," were you could sign up for all kinds of crafts. One of the crafts was these cute signs. They had tons of samples to choose from, most people picked two or three to do, but they were all so cute! I had to limit myself to five. Little did I know just how much work goes it to making these signs, the activity started at 9:00am and I didn't leave until after 3:00pm. By that time I had only completed 2 signs. Needless to say they're not exactly easy to make but I'm proud to say that as of yesterday I have finished all five signs...aren't they cute?!

HALLOWEEN

Rick- So right now rebecca is doing "tummy time" with matthew so i got the glorious oppurtunity to write in the blog. soooo anyhow.. this years Halloween was awesome, i got off a long day of work and went home and was suppose to dress sorta like a lumber jack. i departed and went to the inlaws house and i was greeted by a bunch of little kids. they all belong to the Drama Club at Merries school. As i ventured further into the house i found mine and my wifes friends in the kitchen.. lmao eric was dressed as freakin Elvis Preasley.. it was so awesome!! Kimi was a cute Geisha and Rebecca was Little Red Riding Hood. Gerri had bought a wolf mask and gloves for her drama kids and i got the first trial run of wearing it.

I love Matthew's Halloween costume, he's not so fond of it but I am. His Grandma Woessner bought it for him a month after he was born. We saw it at Babies' R'Us, and Grandma couldn't help her self. Matthews nursery theme is dinosaurs by the way, so we have a tendency to buy anything and everything having to do with dinosaurs. Halloween has always been a big deal for me, it signifies the beginning of the holiday season. Sometimes I'm so excited to get the holiday season started, I can barely restrain myself from decorating for Halloween on the 1st of August. Matthews growing so fast I just hope that his Halloween costume still fits him by the time the big night rolls around!

So, this whole blog process has been a lot easier than I thought it would be. Rick has been telling me for awhile that I should start a blog, and I've found it to be really enjoyable and addicting. Now about the Davis family. Rick and I met when we were in high school, I guess you could say we were high school sweet hearts. After dating for a few years rick asked me to marry him. His proposal was so sweet, he did it two days before Christmas on the grounds of the Los Angles Temple under the twinkling Christmas lights. We were married on July 14, 2006 for time and all eternity in the New Port Beach Temple. Married life with rick fit into my life like a puzzle piece, we were best friends. Almost exactly two years later on June 18, 2008 Matthew Laurence Davis joined our family. Weighing in at 7lbs. and 4oz. and measuring 21in. long, he immediately stole our hearts. It's a funny thing becoming a parent. Looking back, before we had him we didn't know what we were missing. Now however, I can't even begin to imagine life without him. Amazing how life changes isn't it?
